On March 16, 2024, in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, 43-year-old Durdona Sultanova was tragically killed by her ex-husband, 44-year-old Al Allaberg, in a murder-suicide incident. The event took place at a residence in the 400 block of Carson Terrace in Lower Moreland Township.
Authorities were alerted to the situation at approximately 4:38 p.m. when two young residents of the home called 911. Upon arrival, police discovered the bodies of Sultanova and Allaberg in a walk-in closet within the master bedroom. An autopsy revealed that Sultanova died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, and her death was ruled a homicide. Allaberg's death was determined to be a suicide caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
This tragic incident has left the couple's two young children orphaned. In response, a family friend initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses and provide support for the children. The campaign describes Sultanova as a "lovely, kind, and beautiful woman" known for her generosity and open heart. As of March 24, 2024, the fundraiser had garnered nearly $50,000 in donations.
Both Sultanova and Allaberg were originally from Uzbekistan and had pursued higher education before relocating to the United States. Sultanova attended the University of World Economics and Diplomacy in Uzbekistan and later obtained a master's degree in Japan.
