On March 19, 2024, 30-year-old Courtney Smith was fatally shot at Tri-Arc Manufacturing in Blawnox, Pennsylvania, where she was employed. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when Sean Black, 42, entered the facility and opened fire. Smith, a mother of three young boys aged nine, five, and two, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old male coworker, identified as Daniel Zoelle, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition.
