On May 5, 2024, 56-year-old Derek Polite was found deceased in his North Braddock, Pennsylvania, residence, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head. The discovery was made by family members who, after viewing news reports of a related incident involving his cousin, became concerned and went to check on him.

Earlier that day, around 1 p.m., Derek's cousin, 26-year-old Bernard Junior Polite, entered Jesus' Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock during a service. He ...
