Both brothers, originally from Moca, Dominican Republic, had emigrated to the United States with aspirations of providing better opportunities for their family. The events leading to their deaths began when a fellow employee, 61-year-old Wilbert Rosado-Ruiz, engaged in a verbal altercation with a female colleague inside the linen company. Following the dispute, Rosado-Ruiz exited the building to make a phone call, then returned armed with a handgun. Surveillance footage captured him methodically walking through the facility, opening fire on his coworkers.
