On January 1, 2023, 37-year-old Jonas Barrett Padilla, a resident of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a member of the Pagan's Motorcycle Club, was fatally shot while riding his motorcycle. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Bayberry Lane near Fawndale Drive in the Valley Estates neighborhood.
