On February 26, 2023, at approximately 4:13 p.m., officers from the Asheville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Maple Crest Apartments on Lee Garden Lane in Asheville, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old David Jerome Owen and 28-year-old Sabrina Ann Black deceased inside their apartment, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Neighbors reported that Owen and Black were in a relationship and shared the apartment with their young daughter ...
