In the early hours of April 16, 2023, Durham police responded to a shooting incident in the 900 block of Clarendon Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims with gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services transported one victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the second victim, identified as 37-year-old Daryl Paige of Rougemont, North Carolina, was pronounced dead at the scene.
