On May 25, 2023, 19-year-old Zion Craig Bowden of Raleigh, North Carolina, was fatally shot in Durham. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the 300 block of Ganyard Farm Way, a residential area off Holloway Street. Durham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Bowden suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
