On a crisp autumn day in 1974, a 17-year-old Caucasian male named Mark Carlson embarked on what was to be his first hunting trip in the scenic area of Huckleberry Flats, nestled between Horseshoe Bend and Placerville, Idaho. On October 20th, he set out for the woods, but as night fell and he did not return home, a sense of unease settled over his family.
