On the night of May 6, 2023, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Sampson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Bud Spell Lane in Roseboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Marquese Moore, a resident of Garland, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. A female victim was also found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries; she was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.
