The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the 12000 block of Highway 130, where two residences were struck by gunfire. Upon arrival, Robeson County Sheriff's deputies found Hunt deceased at the scene.
Born on September 5, 2002, in Dillon County, South Carolina, Hunt was remembered as a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. He was known for his contagious smile and striking blue eyes that could light up any room. His passing has left a profound void in the lives of his family and friends.
In the wake of his death, a GoFundMe campaign was established by family friend Tisha Strickland to assist with funeral expenses, as Hunt did not have life insurance. The campaign emphasized the family's desire to lay him to rest respectfully and their pursuit of justice for his untimely death.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Criminal Investigations Divisions are actively investigating the case, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. The Sheriff's Office has urged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward to aid in their investigation.
