On January 1, 2024, 81-year-old William Neville was fatally struck by stray bullets that penetrated his apartment in Enfield, North Carolina. At approximately 6:30 p.m., while seated on his sofa eating a bowl of cereal, Neville was hit by gunfire that entered through the wall of his residence at Carriage House Apartments on Carriage House Lane. The bullets originated from shots fired outside the building, which left multiple units with bullet holes.
