On April 14, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., 21-year-old Alyssia Lacole Adkins was fatally shot near the American Legion building on Old Wilkesboro Road in Salisbury, North Carolina. Emergency responders transported her to Baptist Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
