On May 22, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 7500 block of North Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had collided with the rear of a Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus.
