On June 20, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a reported shooting at the Budget Inn located on Old Interstate Road in north Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Howard Page suffering from gunshot wounds outside the motel. Emergency medical services transported Page to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The initial investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile on June 24, 2024.
