On July 17, 2024, Nathaniel Brown, a 23-year-old resident of Columbia, North Carolina, was found deceased from gunshot wounds on NC 94 South near the intersection of Elementary School Road. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Tyrrell County Sheriff's Office swiftly initiated an investigation into Brown's death. Within hours, deputies identified a suspect, 23-year-old Amyrion Mccleese, also of Columbia. Authorities gathered sufficient evidence to obtain warr ...
