On July 27, 2024, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the Highgate Place area. Shortly thereafter, another call reported a vehicle collision into a tree in the 2400 block of Milburnie Road. Upon arrival at the crash scene, officers discovered 19-year-old Alejandro Troncozo inside the vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
