On the night of September 23, 2024, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Durham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting near North Hyde Park Avenue and Holloway Street in Durham, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Durham resident Marquis A. Sinclair suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services transported Sinclair to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
