On October 21, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., deputies from the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Pecan Grove Circle in La Grange, North Carolina, following reports of a possible cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 32-year-old Xavier Shamael Branch, known affectionately as "BigZay." The circumstances of his death led authorities to initiate a homicide investigation.
