On November 12, 2024, 31-year-old Christopher Lee Hart was fatally shot near the intersection of Holloway Street and Bunn Terrace in Durham, North Carolina. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
In the days following the incident, the Durham Police Department released images of a bearded man wearing jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black toboggan, seen riding a black bicycle.
Authorities believe this individual may be connected to Hart's death and have requested public assistance in identifying him.
Hart's death is part of a troubling surge in gun violence in Durham, with at least eight people shot, three fatally, since November 9, 2024. This increase has prompted local officials to seek community involvement in addressing the issue.
