On July 5, 2023, 18-year-old Columbus "Lumbo" Brooks was fatally shot near Woodlawn Avenue and Dupont Street in Buffalo, New York. Emergency responders arrived promptly around 9:30 p.m., and Brooks was transported to Erie County Medical Center. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at 10:10 p.m.
