On November 7, 2023, 45-year-old Umar Elquhir was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence on the Poospatuck Indian Reservation in Mastic, New York. Emergency responders transported him to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.
