Josue Bedell, a 47-year-old resident of Mastic, NY, was tragically found dead in his home on the Poospatuck Reservation on July 4, 2021. The discovery was made after his family, unable to reach him since the previous day, requested a wellness check. Officers from the 7th Precinct responded to the call and found Bedell with a fatal gunshot wound. The Suffolk County Police Department's Homicide Squad immediately launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
