On December 2, 2023, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Rochester Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a shooting on Glenwood Avenue, near Finch Street, in Rochester, New York. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Ziheir Roberts with a gunshot wound to his torso. Roberts was promptly transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
