On May 4, 2024, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Rochester Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 500 block of Lyell Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds inside the residence at 525 Lyell Avenue. Two men, identified as 29-year-old Jared Perry and 31-year-old Marquis Chambers, were pronounced dead at the scene.
