On September 16, 2024, Barbara J. Lawrence, aged 76, was found deceased at her residence on Voorhees Road in the town of Perth, New York. State Police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at approximately 8:24 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of Barbara and her husband, Guy E. Lawrence, aged 75, in the backyard. A handgun was located near Mr. Lawrence's body. Both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds, and the scene was consistent with a murder-suicide.
