In the waning daylight of a December evening, a seemingly routine traffic stop escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of a young police officer. On December 13, 2018, Edgar Isidro Flores, a 24-year-old male officer with the DeKalb County Police Department, was fatally shot in the line of duty just east of Atlanta.
