On April 18, 2023, at approximately 3:58 p.m., the Springfield Police Department responded to a residence at 2110 S. Florence Avenue in Springfield, Missouri, following a report of possible gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals deceased inside the home: 62-year-old Donna J. Spellmeier and her son, 33-year-old Keith Spellmeier from Harrison, Arkansas.
