In the early hours of June 25, 2023, Kansas City, Missouri, police officers on patrol near East 31st Street and Prospect Avenue witnessed multiple individuals firing gunshots at a person and a vehicle. Upon noticing the officers, the suspects fled the scene in their vehicles, heading eastbound. The officers approached the victim, identified as 36-year-old Ivan Tyson, and administered first aid until emergency medical services arrived.
