On November 10, 2023, 35-year-old Justin Welch was fatally shot at E-Clazz Salon, a barbershop located in the 11600 block of West Florissant Avenue in north St. Louis County. Welch, a resident of Florissant, Missouri, was at the barbershop for a haircut when an argument ensued between him and another individual. During the confrontation, the assailant punched Welch in the face before drawing a firearm and shooting him. Welch was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
