In the early afternoon of June 27, 2024, police responded to a call for a shooting in the 10600 block of Moidart Circle in St. Louis County. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Khalil Stanley, a male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital for life-saving treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Khalil Stanley succumbed to his injuries three days later, on June 30, 2024, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The teenager resided in the 10300 block of Lookaway Drive in St. Louis.
Following the shooting, an investigation was launched by the St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons. The investigation led to a 15-year-old male suspect being taken into custody. The unnamed teen has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter and is currently being held at the St. Louis County Family Court. Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing and have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
