On April 13, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred at Wilbur Young Park in Blue Springs, Missouri, resulting in the deaths of 20-year-old Karmello "Mello" Matlock and 19-year-old LaDronal Hamilton Jr. Both individuals were transported to local hospitals, where they succumbed to their injuries. A 17-year-old male also sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.
