On June 30, 2024, in Washington, Missouri, 31-year-old Matthew M. Lackey was fatally shot by his wife, Samantha Lackey, also 31. The incident occurred at their residence on East 8th Street, where officers found Matthew deceased from a single gunshot wound. Samantha called 911 to report the shooting, stating that she had just shot her husband.
