On the morning of July 12, 2024, a soldier was discovered deceased inside a residence on the Fort Leonard Wood military base in Missouri. The soldier was later identified as 23-year-old Corporal Robert Wilson III. He was found with a gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Wilson was serving as a human resources non-commissioned officer and was assigned to the 84th Chemical Battalion at the base.
