On the evening of August 21, 2024, a violent sequence of events unfolded in the quiet residential area of Imperial, Missouri, ending in the tragic death of Timothy Michael Geitz. Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a distress call in the 2400 block of Lombard Lane, where they discovered the 43-year-old White male lifeless in the driver's seat of a vehicle. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound that abruptly ended his life.
The investigation immediately turned toward understanding the chaotic moments leading up to the shooting, revealing that the violence was not a random act but the culmination of a targeted pursuit.
Investigators learned that the incident stemmed from a prior dispute involving Geitz and a younger acquaintance. According to witness statements and police reports, 20-year-old Chaptur James Wagoner of Arnold, Missouri, had become agitated with Geitz and the other occupants of his vehicle. Wagoner chased the group into the subdivision, reportedly entering the neighborhood twice as he hunted for them. Upon locating the vehicle for the second time, Wagoner fired a single round into the car, striking Geitz and causing his death while other passengers were nearby.
