Lamare McGee, a 38-year-old Black male from Hillsdale, Missouri, was sitting in his white SUV in the 3600 block of Hamilton Avenue when he was shot multiple times. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of the shooting at approximately 2:18 p.m. and discovered McGee inside the vehicle.
Despite the quick arrival of emergency medical services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a man in his 40s fleeing from the SUV immediately after the gunshots rang out. The investigation into the death of Lamare McGee was swiftly taken over by the department's Homicide Division.
