On the morning of October 25, 2024, police in Fulton, Missouri, responded to a report of a shooting at the Southwood Village Apartments. Inside one of the residences, officers discovered 27-year-old Dominique E-KeVaughn Ford suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A graduate of Fulton High School, Ford was known in the community for his work as a laser tech specialist at the Danuser Machine Company and was furthering his
education at Lincoln University with the goal of becoming a physical education teacher.
Investigators quickly determined that the homicide appeared to be premeditated. Surveillance footage from the apartment complex captured a suspect dressed in dark clothing entering and leaving the victim’s apartment around the time of the crime. Authorities also released video of a vehicle of interest—a white Hyundai Tucson, believed to be a model between 2009 and 2014, which was seen entering the parking lot. The vehicle was notable for missing a front license plate and was last spotted traveling south on Missouri Route C.
Despite the release of these leads and an increase in the reward money offered by Callaway County Crimestoppers in early 2025, no arrests were immediately made. By the one-year anniversary of the murder in October 2025, the case remained unsolved, with family and friends holding vigils to keep Ford's memory alive and press for answers. Law enforcement officials have stated they believe there are individuals with information who have not yet come forward and continue to urge the public to assist in identifying the person responsible for the targeted attack.
