Eunice K. Dwumfour, a 30-year-old councilwoman from Sayreville, New Jersey, was tragically shot and killed on February 1, 2023, in the Parlin section of the borough. Dwumfour, a Republican, was the first African American to serve on Sayreville's borough council. She was known for her work as a business analyst, emergency medical technician, and her leadership in Christian ministries. She was a mother and had recently married a pastor from Nigeria.
