On January 17, 2024, in Union, New Jersey, authorities discovered the bodies of 9-year-old Scarlett Alarcon, her 6-year-old sister Emma, their father Ruben, 51, and mother Andrea, 42, in their Lincrest Terrace home. Each family member had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators determined that Andrea Alarcon fatally shot her husband and two daughters before taking her own life.
