On a Tuesday afternoon in June of 2014, a violent encounter in northwest Atlanta claimed the life of 58-year-old Clifford Johnson, a Black or African American male from College Park. The incident occurred on June 10th in the 500 block of Griffin Street, where Johnson was stabbed in the neck.
Emergency services found Johnson in front of the Neighborhood Grocery and quickly transported him to Grady Hospital.
Despite the immediate medical attention, the severity of the single stab wound proved fatal, and he succumbed to his injury later that same day.
Initial reports from the Atlanta Police Department identified Johnson and the circumstances of his death.
