On July 21, 2024, 17-year-old John Dominguez of Bayonne, New Jersey, was found unresponsive in an apartment at 124 West Third Street. Emergency responders transported him to Bayonne Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 3 p.m. An autopsy by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Dominguez died from a gunshot wound to the torso, ruling the death a homicide.
