In a tragic turn of events on an April evening, Shelby William Jacobs, a 49-year-old man from Richmond, Virginia, lost his life to gun violence. On April 14, 2023, while taking out the trash in Henrico County, Jacobs was fatally shot. The incident prompted an immediate response from Henrico Police, who launched an investigation into the senseless act.
Authorities were able to swiftly identify a person of interest in connection with the shooting.
The investigation quickly led to the apprehension of a suspect. The individual taken into custody was identified as 18-year-old Dyven G. Henderson of Henrico County.
Following his arrest, Henderson faced serious charges related to the death of Jacobs. He was charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The community was thanked by the Henrico Police for their assistance which aided in the prompt arrest of the suspect.
