On April 27, 2023, in Springfield, Virginia, 38-year-old Meskerem Belachew Solomon was found deceased alongside her brother, 31-year-old Amanuel Belachew Solomon, and her husband, 47-year-old Tiku Berhane Gebreeyesus. The Fairfax County Police Department responded to a 911 call from the family's housekeeper, who discovered the bodies in the basement of their residence on Wild Spruce Drive.
