Death by Force

Tyosha Tanique Mitchell, a 25-year-old woman from Richmond, Virginia, was found dead near the Colonial Parkway in Yorktown on May 6, 2023. Her body was discovered by a jogger around 6:30 a.m. on Old Williamsburg Road, approximately 10 feet into the woods. The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and pronounced Mitchell dead, determining that she had died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
