In the quiet community of Pounding Mill, Virginia, the life of 46-year-old Eric Callaway Lockhart, a male, came to a sudden and violent end on the night of May 9, 2023. Emergency services were summoned to his residence on Pounding Mill Branch Road around 10:08 p.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, deputies from the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office discovered Lockhart inside his home, a place he shared with his wife and family, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
