On May 23, 2023, 17-year-old T.J. Harris, a junior at L.C. Bird High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia, was fatally shot in Richmond's Southside. The incident occurred just before midnight in the 2400 block of Terminal Avenue, where police found Harris unresponsive in the front yard of a residence; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
