On November 12, 2023, at approximately 6:46 p.m., officers from the Petersburg Bureau of Police responded to a reported shooting in the 1100 block of Custer Street in the Delectable Heights area of Petersburg, Virginia. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Robert D. Pugh suffering from gunshot wounds. Pugh was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
