On April 6, 2024, 16-year-old Matthew Devine, a student at Colonial Heights High School, was fatally shot during a large party in Hanover County, Virginia. The incident occurred near McClellan Road and Agape Lane, where deputies responded to reports of gunfire and found Devine with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite immediate medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
