In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 6, 2024, the life of 38-year-old Letisha Monique Johnson was tragically cut short in Gretna, Virginia. Known affectionately as 'Tish' to her friends and family, she was a woman remembered for her vibrant personality and her ability to make friends with everyone she met. A skilled hairdresser, she was most recently a dedicated stay-at-home mother.
On that fateful morning, around 3 a.m., authorities responded to a call and found Letisha with a
gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries. Her sudden and violent death sent shockwaves through the community, leaving her loved ones to grapple with an unimaginable loss. Friends and family remembered her as a loving person with a good heart who loved life and lived it to the fullest.
In the wake of the shooting, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation that quickly led to a suspect. Forty-one-year-old Charles Panel Jr. was arrested in connection with Letisha's death. He is facing multiple charges for his alleged involvement in the incident.
