On the night of April 17, 2024, Alison “Kate” LaPorta, a 38-year-old Caucasian woman from Lorton, Virginia, was fatally shot. Her boyfriend, 47-year-old Huy Tien Nguyen, drove her to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital around 11:35 p.m. with a gunshot wound to her upper body. LaPorta was subsequently transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The mother of two was remembered by friends and family as spunky, fun, and a friend to all.
